Select from the following to create your perfect VR Tripod.
Recommended setup for 360 cinematography: use the F360 Basic Ball Tripod as base, attach 2 stackable weights and 1 Cheeseplate Counter Weight between the F360 Basic Ball and the long Carbaon Fiber monopod, then attach the F360 Quick Release Mount (QR Mount) to your 360 camera and add it to the top of the monopod.
Alternative setup for 360 cinematography: use the F360 Basic Ball Tripod as base, attach 3 stackable weights between the F360 Basic Ball and the long Carbaon Fiber monopod, then attach the F360 Quick Release Mount (QR Mount) to your 360 camera and add it to the top of the monopod.
Recommended setup for traditional pole photography: place 3 stackable weights on top of the F360 Basic Ball Tripod, attach a Nodal Ninja Rotator on top, then attach a Long CF pole (i.e. the Nodal Ninja Pole Series 2), and place your camera on top. With care and attention, 6m height is possible. Use your gear responsibly, we are not responsible for anything.
F360 Basic Ball Tripod
The main component of the F360 Basic Ball Tripod is the aluminium hemisphere with 14 different 3/8” – 16 female connectors to allow for a wide variety of configurations. The main body is produced by Novoflex in Germany, exclusively for Freedom360.
The tripod legs are heavy-duty aluminium and can be attached at three different heights with wide, medium and small footprint to make a regular tripod setup. On uneven terrain choose different levels for the legs to get your monopod back into a vertical position. Or use only two or one tripod leg. The legs come with rubber ball feet which can be detached. In addition, there are three 90º holes at the equator to give you even more options to connect gear. The monopod (or weights) attach at the center of the hemisphere.
All aluminium parts are black anodized, and all setscrews are stainless steel, making the assembly quite corrosion resistant.
Included:
- F360 Basic Ball
- 3 Aluminium tripod legs with removable rubber ball feet
- 8x 3/8 set screws
Stackable Weights
The stackable counter weights allow you to add extra stability to your monopod setup or balance a monopod to act like a simplified steadycam device. The weight is about 500gr, and has a male and female 3/8 connector, making them easily stackable, and attach to the end of a monopod or any other photographic equipment.
You can add 2-3 weights to the end of the monopod, and attach the F360 Basic Ball Tripod to the bottom of the weights. This will give the free-standing monopod some more heft, and make it more bottom heavy, adding stability. They can also be used as very solid vertical offsets for ladybug systems, or similar. They also work as individual stands for small items, i.e. small table-top studio lights, making them a rather versatile tool.
Items included:
- 500 gr (0.5kg) weights, black-anodized aluminum
- 3/8-16 M/F connectors
- 63mm dia, 59mm tall
Cheese Plate Counter Weight
The stackable Cheeseplate Counter Weight allows you to mount 3 accessories on each of the 3 sides. You can mount the accessory directly via the 1/4-20 mounting holes, or mount a mounting adapter (i.e. v-lock or acra) for easy access. Useful for battery packs, wireless transmitters, audio recorders etc. The Cheeseplate Counter Weight has 3/8-16 threads on the top and bottom. This makes it perfect to use between our stackable weights and the F360 Carbon Fiber Monopod on top of the F360 Basic Ball Tripod.
Technical specs
- 63.2mm (about 2.5in) diameter (same as the standard stackable counterweights)
- 51.8mm (about 2in) tall
- 400gr weight
- 3/8-16 threads on both ends
- three flat sides with four 1/4-20 threaded holes, 120 deg apart
Freedom360 Short and Long Carbon Fiber Monopod
A highly versatile tool to hold and mount 360 cameras. Simply attach the camera to the pole and start shooting. Attach the monopod to a regular tripod to gain an elevated view, or use the F360 Basic Ball Tripod as foot, or attach a counter weight for a simplified steadycam setup, or attach the pole with a super clamp to a overhead structure, or extend the monopod with another pole, or or or…
The basic principle behind the Freedom360 is the “vanishing” support, such as this monopod, which can be masked out before stitching the final panorama, leaving either just a tiny smudged circle, or nothing at all in the final video. This concept applies to most 360 cameras.

Quick Release Mount (QR Mount)
Never struggle with attaching your camera to a monopod in the field again! Our Quick Release Mount safely and securely connects your camera to a monopod without any spinning.
The clamp, a modified Fanotec Quick Mount Mini, connects to your monopod with a standard 3/8″ set screw. The Adapter, which also acts as a handle for the camera, connects separately to your camera with another 3/8″ set screw. Fit the Adapter into the Quick Mount, tighten the thumb screw, and you’re ready to shoot in seconds.
Suitable for any size of 360 camera, from small to heavy, including Yi Halo and similar.
Weight: 180gr, Height: 85mm, Handle Diameter: 28mm, Grip Length: ca 60mm
Rigging: Use common sense: (CF) poles are build for longitudinal forces, holding them horizontally limits the max load capacity. Use with caution. Never extend a segment all the way to the endstop. Always leave 5cm “in the tube” for each segment, the more the better. Even with very light cameras, additional forces can still break the carbon fiber or the components connected to the carbon fiber. Use good safety practices, including safety cables, especially if you rig the rig above crowds. Inspect your monopod, and discard it if you think the CF integrity has become compromised.
